At BIG Recyclers, we’re not just recycling glass. Our mission is to create a sustainable future by diverting recyclable glass from landfills. Based in the heart of Central and Eastern Washington, our vision is to build a community that conserves natural resources and reduces waste by turning discarded glass into
valuable resources.

Our 100% volunteer organization hosts public drop offs on Tuesdays at 240 C Street in the Walla Walla Airport Complex from 10 am until noon. Please visit our home page for the seasonal schedule. Membership is not required, but members do pay less per pound than non-members. We ask that you only bring glass food and beverage containers that have been rinsed; lids, foil collars and plastic pour spouts removed. Labels are okay!
BIG Recyclers was formed in 2021 by a whole slew of local residents who were concerned about the lack of glass recycling here in the Walla Walla Valley. We believed that together, we can make a difference. Our strength is in our all volunteer crew. Please consider joining us for a shift, a month or a year!

Chris is a founding member of BIG where his passion for the environment led him to figure out how to make the Walla Walla Valley sustainable. Chris's connections with various organizations and vision for the future have helped transform BIG Recyclers from a small glass grinding operation into what it is today.
Dan joined BIG not just as an onsite volunteer, but as a financial powerhouse! Dan is a constant presence at the drop-off site on Tuesdays and Saturdays while also managing our member record-keeping and all of our accounting.

After moving to Walla Walla in 2021, Jennifer and her husband Greg were shocked to find there was no place to recycle empty glass. A local tasting room manager told them about BIG and they immediately shared their business and process improvement skills to help the organization grow in a sustainable way.

Darrin's relationship with BIG began in January 2024, at the annual all members meeting. As a new arrival in Walla Walla, she was looking for an opportunity to give back to the community and make new friends. She tackled the task of building a new website and getting the word out that IT IS POSSIBLE TO RECYCLE GLASS IN WALLA WALLA. The new friends are the best part.
